In 2009, Master Quilter Cathie Purdy launched One Wild Stitch, a longarm and custom quilting business located in St. George, Utah. One Wild Stitch offers clients a wide variety of professional longarm quilting and hand quilting-related services. Cathie is well reputed for her beautiful original quilting designs and her services are coveted among members of quilting communities in a wide-ranged area.
Cathie previously owned and operated a successful gift shop in Duck Creek, Utah. Since moving to St. George, Utah, she has discovered and enjoys the rich artistic community in the high desert area setting, where she is one of seven women comprising the Painted Hills Fiber Artists.
Besides being an art quilter, and a professional longarm quilter, Cathie is a wife, mother of two daughters and grandmother to eight beautiful grandchildren.
Cathie’s quilted artworks have been exhibited in quilt and art venues and have won several acclaimed awards and ribbons to her credit, including a first-place ribbon for her Aunt Millie’s Garden quilt (featured on her Facebook photo cover).
