For those familiar with the quaint city located near in the Southwest corner of Utah, the St. George Art Festival is a fun and invigorating annual outdoor event each spring. Applicant artists are juried into the large event. Our very own Sue McBride Gilgen was one of those outstanding artists to have passed muster with the jurors of the show. She hung approximately 30 works in her own booth during the 3 days of the festival. The residents and visitors to St. George, Utah during the festival were afforded a wonderful treat in stopping by Sue’s booth.
We are wishing we had photos of her booth, but Sue’s comments were, “It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun. We met so many wonderful people. We enjoyed many delightful conversations with those who stopped by the booth.” Asked if she would consider entering again next year, she said, “I would love to have our Painted Hills Fiber Artists enter as a group into the festival in order to feature work of all our members.”
Keep an eye out for the St. George Art Festival next Spring. One never knows for sure who will be juried into this first class event, but it is a guarantee that whatever is exhibited, you will not be disappointed.
